Our Mission

We strive to give young athletes a chance to have a fun experience within the sport of football. We want to inspire a passion for Lindbergh Flyers football while playing on the turf in Flyers Stadium, where they will one day shine in front of their communities as a Flyer under the lights on Friday nights.

History

Lindbergh Flag Football was founded by former Lindbergh Flyers coach, Tom Beauchamp, Gary Amstutz, and Mike Miller. Year after year, hundreds of kids from pre-K through 8th grade gather for a few weeks in the fall and spring to play flag football with other kids from all across the community.

This upcoming Spring season will be our largest season to date. We have also grown, with kids coming from school districts all throughout St. Louis County; as well as kids from St. Charles and Jefferson County.

New this year, we are piloting a 7th and 8th grade 7-on-7 Passing league. Our goal with piloting this 7-on-7 league is to give an opportunity for middle schoolers from all around the area to improve their skills going into their future high school football careers. We hope to expand this league, not only to improve our football program, but improve football throughout the St. Louis area to make our community even more competitive in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

FALL FLAG FOOTBALL FAQ:

When and where are games played? – Games are played on Sundays in October and Sundays in April (dates may vary). All games are played at Lindbergh High School Fields. Flag season is 4-5 weeks long.
When will practices be held? – Practices are determined by the availability of the volunteer coach. Typically held during the week in the evenings. If you want to control this scheduling, we are always looking volunteer coaches. LFA tries to help provide practice locations within Lindbergh School District, if available.
Do you have to attend Lindbergh Schools to participate? No! Any athlete from any area is welcome to compete in our program. You do not need to bring a team either, individual players will be placed on teams with available space.
What does Game Days look like? – Depending on the number of teams, we typically schedule doubleheader games for each team. Each game is 60mins.

Are you associated with NFL Flag? – YES! Are league is registered with NFL Flag and follow NFL Flag rules. We also order NFL Flag jerseys that replicas of NFL Teams.
Are you associated with Community Ed? – LFA is separate from Lindbergh Community Education, we do not follow the same rules and guidelines as other Lindbergh sponsored sports.
Who are the coaches? Coaches are parents of players on the team. All coaches undergo background checks and are assigned players based on grade level, schools, and friend requests. We can not guarantee team placement, but we try.
What are the rules? We follow NFL Flag football rules. We do have a few house rules which are sent out to coaches before the season.
